This is second poster for my film and would also be used as an advertising poster not the main poster as this will most likely have the main characters on it from the filming once completed

Target Audience

I feel as though my target audience is pretty self explanatory, this is because, the film that i am making is a thriller/horror and is about zombies so i feel the films target audience will be from the ranges of 12-18, this is because a lot of similar films to mine are rated as this so i feel that it will be a good age range for my film. However a lot of films that mine is similar to or based on are rated 12 or 15, however because i do not poses the budget of major movies my film will be a lot less realistic and therefore to as effective making it not enough to be rated an 18, also there are not as many types of factors in this short film to make it such a high rating such as: Language, Sex, Drugs/Alcohol, however it does contain some violence and gory scenes but these are not really bad enough to make the film classed as an 18.

Possible Location for filming

This picture is of a possible location for filming my short film as it has all the qualities to be the main focus on my film. It has all the qualities that i need, e.g. creepy woods in the distance, fog (at this particular time) the hill coming up to the shot for possible protagonists to approach and the log cabin on the left of the picture where some action may take place.
I think this shot will give me all of the possible shots for filming as there are many different shots that can be taken in this area.

Similar Posters

These posters are similar to my own poster, and also are of similar genre and storyline so these examples have given more some ideas of how to improve my own poster and to make it more realistic to fit my storyline. A lot of these posters have the theme of the hand rising up and this is also similar to my poster.

American Zombie Poster

I chose to make my poster this way because it has some of the similar to other posters of successful films. The concept of the hand idea is similar to other horror/zombie film posters, however they mainly use whole arms coming out of the ground, but I have just gone for the bloody hand print on the poster this is just to create an affect of horror and a threatening gesture to the audience to what they will experience when watching this film.

The main theme of the poster is centred around the name of the film with the American flag being in the background with the bloody handprint taking over the centre of the flag. This could be seen as a clue into the plot of the story with the bloody handprint (the zombie/infected) taking over the flags (America) main attraction.

The style of title was made to stand out from the background of the rest of the poster and really make you aware of the name of the film, and the colours still fit in with the rest of the poster as it already has the white from the stripes of the flag and the blue from the corner to help the blue outline on the title fit into the overall appeal of the poster.

Joe Compton

Age- 17
Lives- In England , lives in England, Main character along with Charlie Rodriguez, doesn't really fit in with he world , but tries to figure out the mystery behind Charlie's secret life and the mysterious goings on in Rothwell and the link with an infectious disease in America.

 Charlie Rodriquez
Age- 18
Lives-Arizona, moved to England for fresh start away from abusive parents.
Backstory- Parents came up with the drug TCM50 which was unstable and has leaked into the population. Charlie now wants to undo what her parents have done and that has lead her to England where the drug has spread violently and she meets Joe. But suddenly as she gets further into the secret of the infection she is infected.

Georgia WilliamsAge- 22
Lives- America, moved from England
Backstory- Went to the same school as Joe and was one of his friends.
Was the top of her class in all sciences and went on to get a job in America for the research of infectious diseases. Will have a key part in the future survival of the population.

Other characters
They might appear in this short film as extras to help out in the film. E.g. zombies, parents and other random people to help fill out the set.

Plot

Plot- Joe Compton is in a world where none understands him, when a mysterious new neighbour moves next door (Charlie Rodriquez). Joe starts to bond with her, then as they start to get close she becomes distant, her Grandparents who she moved here with are killed by a supposed animal attack. However there have been other incidents similar to this. Joe has found out that all of the missing people from around the area and the murder victims have been linked to the new drug TCM50, which was created by Charlie’s parents.
Joe now wants to find out how Charlie is involved  and why these deaths have really been caused.
Joe's investigations have led him to a log cabin where he is ambushed by the zombies, he is left with two questions: Are the zombies being controlled by someone and will he get out alive?

American Zombie- this is my original idea for my film, and does fit in well with some of my ideas that I have for other aspects of this project. However, this name does come with some complications such as I will have to fit in more American themes to feature in this short film, another option could be to add a different storyline where the virus or zombies come from America to England.
